The Compleat Angler · Danesfield House · Cookham · Corporate & Private Events
One of the Thames Valley's wealthiest towns – a concentration of media and tech professionals, spectacular river venues, and a private events culture that expects the best. Magic to match.
Marlow (SL7) consistently ranks among the most affluent towns in the Thames Valley – high property values, a well-established community of media, tech, and finance professionals, and a river setting that generates a summer events calendar of real quality.
The Compleat Angler – the famous Macdonald hotel on the riverbank beneath Marlow's suspension bridge – is one of the most celebrated event venues on the Thames. Danesfield House at nearby Medmenham, an Edwardian mansion above the river, is another. Close-up magic at the table takes an already impressive event into genuinely extraordinary territory.
Marlow has a rich literary connection: Jerome K. Jerome wrote Three Men in a Boat here. It is a place with depth and character – and guests who notice quality.
Two of the finest event venues on the Thames are within a few miles of each other here. Both suit close-up magic exceptionally well.

Marlow and the Maidenhead corridor hosts a concentration of media companies, tech firms, and financial services businesses. Client entertainment at The Compleat Angler or Danesfield House is already impressive – close-up magic at the table makes it unforgettable.
Marlow in summer is one of the most attractive places to entertain in England. Roaming magic in a riverside garden, moving through the crowd as the champagne flows on a July evening, is close-up magic at its most natural and effective.
The Compleat Angler and Danesfield House are two of the Thames Valley's most celebrated wedding venues. During the drinks reception, I ensure your guests are entertained, bonded, and in the best possible mood before the wedding breakfast begins.
40th, 50th, and 60th birthday parties in Marlow's private properties and at local venues. I work through the room during drinks and perform at the table during dinner – every group of guests gets their own remarkable moment.
We worked with Paul and his magic for an event for a client of ours. We had no hesitation as Paul also performed at our wedding. Everybody loved his entertainment and close up magic.
